Nahal Amouzadeh is an Iranian American writer-editor, multimedia journalist and social media strategist currently based in Brooklyn, New York.
She’s worked in the news and media industry since 2017 for Everyday Feminism, WTOP News and ALL ARTS, where she most recently served as a writer-editor at the public media production company and led its social media platforms.
In 2019, she won a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Social Media while at WTOP News. In 2022 and 2023, ALL ARTS received Webby Award nominations in the Social category under her leadership. Also in 2023, she received an Honorable Mention from the Gracie Awards for her work on ALL ARTS’ national digital platforms.
Her projects explore art, entertainment and popular culture; mental health; gender and sexuality; race and ethnicity; and local or community-based news.
Born and raised in Southern California, she attended UCLA where she double majored in English and Gender Studies, and graduated summa cum lade. While at UCLA, she served as the Opinion Editor for FEM, the university’s feminist newsmagazine since 1973, as well as a Senior Fiction Editor for Westwind, the university’s journal of the arts.
She misses the Pacific Ocean every day.
